The Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (BSB41419) is a nationally recognised qualification tailored for individuals working in a Work Health and Safety (WHS) role who provide leadership and guidance to others while being responsible for the output of their team. This qualification equips candidates with the knowledge and skills necessary to implement and support an effective WHS management system. Additionally, it prepares and empowers workplace personnel to address WHS issues competently. The program covers a broad range of topics, including risk management, WHS legislation, incident response, and promoting a safe workplace culture, ensuring that candidates are well-prepared to manage and mitigate health and safety risks in various professional settings.

VC Education’s Certificate IV Work Health and Safety, developed by industry professionals, is designed to align with current and emerging industry trends, offering practical, real-world applications.

To achieve this qualification, you must demonstrate competency in 10 units of competency comprised of 5 core units and 5 electives.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Must be 18 years or older
Demonstrate the required level of Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills
No formal pre-requisite required, however, it is beneficial for students to have relevant industry experience

OVERVIEW

This qualification applies to individuals working in a work health and safety (WHS) role who provide a broad range of technical knowledge and skills and have some limited responsibility for the output of others.

The qualification applies to those working as supervisors, WHS personnel, and workers in other WHS-related roles who manage risks effectively, apply relevant WHS laws, and contribute to WHS within the workplace in known or changing contexts with established parameters

DELIVERY METHOD

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Assessment is available to candidates who possess a minimum of two (2) years of relevant industry experience. This assessment process is conducted by a qualified industry expert Trainer and Assessor. Following the completion of the RPL Assessment, candidates will receive a personalised Training Plan that outlines the units of competency to be undertaken for training and assessment.

Training is available through VC Education’s online Learning Management System (LMS), classroom-based sessions, or face-to-face sessions conducted at your workplace. The method of training delivery is tailored to meet the specific needs of each candidate.

Duration: Maximum 24 months
