COURSE DESCRIPTION

Diploma of Work Health and Safety BSB41319 is a nationally recognised qualification that reflects the role of individuals who coordinate and maintain the Work Health and Safety (WHS) program in an organisation.

The course is designed for candidates who want to work in a health and safety management field at an organisational level, such as WHS directors or expert safety advisors. It reflects the role of practitioners who apply a substantial knowledge base and well-developed skills in a wide variety of WHS contexts.

COURSE STRUCTURE

VC Education delivers industry-focused training and assessment that provides you with the skills, knowledge, and experience to achieve a Diploma of Work Health and Safety.

VC Education’s Diploma of Work Health and Safety has been developed by industry professionals and is focused on current and emerging industry trends, whilst providing you with ‘real world’ and practical application.

To achieve this qualification, you must demonstrate competency in 10 units of competency comprised of 5 core units and 5 electives

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Must be 18 years or older
Will be required to demonstrate the required level or languages, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills
All BSB41419 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety core units or equivalent competencies. Equivalent competencies are predecessors to the following units which have been mapped as equivalent.

  • BSBWHS412 Assist with workplace compliance with WHS laws
  • BSBWHS413 Contribute to implementation and maintenance of WHS consultation and participation processes
  • BSBWHS414 Contribute to WHS risk management
  • BSBWHS415 Contribute to implementing WHS management systems
  • BSBWHS416 Contribute to workplace incident response.

OVERVIEW

This qualification reflects the role of individuals coordinating and maintaining the work health and safety (WHS) program in an organisation. The qualification applies to supervisors and managers who apply a substantial knowledge base and well-developed skills in a wide variety of WHS contexts.

DELIVERY METHOD

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Assessment is made available to candidates who can demonstrate a minimum of two (2) years of relevant industry experience. The RPL Assessment process is conducted by a qualified industry expert Trainer and Assessor. Once the RPL Assessment is complete, candidates will be issued with a Training Plan detailing the units of competency to be trained and assessed.

Training is offered through VC Education’s online Learning Management System (LMS), classroom-based or face-to-face at your workplace. The delivery of training will vary depending on the candidate’s requirements.

Duration: Maximum 24 months
