The Trade Start courses requires the completion of 11 units comprising of 8 core units and 3 electives with 1 additional unit.

Aged 14 years or older
Will be required to demonstrate the required level or languages, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills
No formal pre-requisite required, but is beneficial for the student to have relevant industry experience

Trade Start is a mix of classroom-based learning and structured work placement, which is arranged for you as part of the course. This combination means on completion of the course you’ll have job-ready skills and a Certificate I in Construction or Certificate II in Resources and Infrastructure Work Preparation – plus connections for your next move in the industry.
