COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Certificate IV in Building Project Support (Estimator) is a nationally recognised qualification specifically tailored to meet the requirements of Estimators within the Building and Construction industry. This comprehensive program equips individuals with specialised skills and knowledge essential for effectively estimating project costs, managing budgets, and contributing to the successful execution of construction projects.

VC Education’s Certificate IV in Building Project Support (Estimator), developed by industry professionals, is designed to align with current and emerging industry trends, offering practical, real-world applications.

To achieve this qualification, you must demonstrate competency in 15 units of competency comprised of 2 core units and 13 electives.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Must be 18 years or older
Demonstrate the required level of Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills
Completion of the general construction induction training program specified by the model Code of Practice for Construction Work. Achievement of unit CPCCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry meets this requirement
No formal pre-requisite required, however, it is beneficial for students to have relevant industry experience

OVERVIEW

This qualification is designed to meet the needs of estimators and schedulers and or contract administrators in the building and construction field who may have responsibility for the preparation of estimates from predetermined rates, processing of subcontractor claims and preparation of head and subcontracts for building and construction works.

DELIVERY METHOD

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Assessment is available to candidates who possess a minimum of two (2) years of relevant industry experience. This assessment process is conducted by a qualified industry expert Trainer and Assessor. Following the completion of the RPL Assessment, candidates will receive a personalised Training Plan that outlines the units of competency to be undertaken for training and assessment.

Training is available through VC Education’s online Learning Management System (LMS), classroom-based sessions, or face-to-face sessions conducted at your workplace. The method of training delivery is tailored to meet the specific needs of each candidate.
